day and night thermos
Design to me is a way to express my dissatisfaction with an existing product or service. As a designer, I believe I have the responsibility to make people’s lives easier, more efficient, and more meaningful. To make people’s lives better, I find out problems, solve them, and add a little bit of my own understanding.
“Day and Night thermos” is a concept design of a thermos. I designed this for people who do not enjoy drinking hot water, but they need to for some reasons such as being sick or being pregnant. My idea is to take inspiration from a real-life object that has the ability to lower human body temperature and calm people down. I chose an ice tube as my inspiration and stacked multiple ice cubes together as the out frame. The ice cubes are crystal clear which correlates with my concept of cooling people down, and the rough texture is easier for grabbing. The process of designing this thermos is enjoyable. This is because I am one of the target users as well.
